Accomodation
En-suite Stone Cottages ($25 per person)

These rooms have huge stone baths with shower, toilet, and sinks which run with hot water. The rooms have four post, doubles beds with individual reading lamps. Tea and coffee machines, fans and all the other necessities. Each room is creatively furnished with everything you need to make yourself at home.
Chalets ($8 per person)
Our chalets are dotted around the large exotic gardens, with views of the lake and easy access to one of the bathroom blocks. Each chalet is individual in design and furnishing. They are built uniquely using local materials (stone, bamboo and wood). All have spacious and creatively decorated with comfortable chairs, bedside lamps, cupboards and the little touches that make a room a home. Each chalet has its own veranda or balcony to enjoy the lake breezes and chill out with a book. Chalets are available with double beds for couples or singles. Single beds for two or three people sharing a chalet. Bathroom blocks have beautiful outdoor showers where you can enjoy sitting in the sun surrounded by plants or take a hot shower under the stars, flush toilets, sinks and mirrors which are kep meticulously clean.
Traditional Mud Huts ($5 per person)
The mud huts follow the traditional building methods of Malawi, perching serenely on the edge of the hillside amongst indigenous trees with mud walls, bamboo blinds and thatched roofs. They are more simply furnished with bed and cupboard, table and mosquito net, but are clean and comfortable.
Dormitory ($4 per person)
Our dormitory sleeps a maximum of 7 people, with homemade bunk beds which are huge and each bed has its own reading lights so as not to disturb other guests.
Camping ($3 per person)
Our campsites are on a series of terraces each holding an individual site which has its own fireplace. Shade is provided by the numerous trees and you are surrounded by beautiful flowers and birds. You can’t fail to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the gardens and lake when waking up on one of our campsites.
*** All of Mayoka Village has been designed and built using traditional methods and materials. From a distance it can be easy to mistake Mayoka for an uninhabited paradise. The chalets blend into the environment and the trees and gardens dominate the landscape. A lot of wildlife is attracted to Mayoka, especially birds. If your lucky you can spot otters from your chalet in the morning and on a calm day you don’t even need to go snorkeling to see all the colourful fish in the crystal clear waters of Lake Malawi.
