Activities
Mayoka Village offers FREE use of snorkeling equipment and traditional Dug-out Canoes fromt eh beach area, directly in front of the bar. You don’t have to go far to enjoy the lake. Right in front of Mayoka are crystal clear waters great for snorkeling and swimming. We are ideally situated half way between the town and the beaches so you can walk all over Nkhata Bay and take in all the sights, shops and local restaurants. Other activities are available, see below:
Village Walks
There are some lovely walks around the local area from one hour to a full day out. We can provide you with a map or guide.
Kayaking
We have inflatable kayaks and Canadian canoes which you can hire for an afternoon to go exploring the local shore line and take in some of the best snorkeling sites or relax on untouched beaches.

Boat Trips
We have a small wooden boat with out-board engine which we love to go out on either to go play foots on the beach at a nearby viallge and go cliff-jumping of to just watch the sunset. Trips go out once or twice a week. For longer trips see Chimango Tours.
Scuba Diving
Aqua Africa Dive School offers the full gange of DADI and NAVI dive courses and individual dives for the qualified diver. They are only 15 minutes walk from Mayoka or a 2 minute boat ride away. Contact andy@aqua-africa.co.uk or visit their website www.aqua-africa.co.uk

Learn Something – Teach Us! – We love to encourage creativity and are always open to new ideas. We welcome anybody passing through with a skill to stop for a while and teach us and other travelers as well as any interested Malawians. Things that have been done in the past include Djemb drum making and playing workshops, silver jewelry making, fire dancing, yoga and mural painting. We are happy to provide space, help finding materials and organizing workshops. Or, if you would rather do something more intimate and informal feel free. Look on the What’s Up! Notice Board to see what plans are ahead.
